BIOGRAPHY

A pianist of refined artistry and entrepreneurial vision, Pun Punyasavatsut is dedicated to reframing classical music to better resonate with contemporary society. Over the years, he has won prizes from the American International Paderewski Piano Competition, Robert B. Beardsley Piano Competition, and Kawai Thailand International Piano Competition.

 

In the 2024/2025 season, Punyasavatsut continued to expand his engagements spanning the United States, Europe, and Asia. Highlights of his recent performances include recital appearances at the Steinway & Sons Gallery in Bangkok and the Ruthmere-Havilah Beardsley House in Indiana, and Chiesa di San Domenico in Italy.

 

Beyond the concert stage, Punyasavatsut is also an arts entrepreneur and educator. He works closely with Randall Faber, creator of the acclaimed Faber Piano Adventures series, contributing to the company’s business strategy, while simultaneously maintaining a private teaching studio at the Faber Piano Institute. Extending his scope beyond the academic sphere, he has also raised over $3,500 through charity concerts to support the Red Cross Hospital.

 

Born in Bangkok, Pun Punyasavatsut began his piano studies at the age of four. A recipient of full merit scholarships for over a decade, most notably the Regents Fellowship and the Glenn E. Leclair and Edward P. Frohlich awards, he is currently a doctoral candidate (DMA) at the University of Michigan, where he also earned his Master of Music and a Certificate in Arts Entrepreneurship & Leadership under the guidance of Christopher Harding, and also leads private and group piano lessons as a graduate student instructor. He holds a Bachelor of Music (Highest Distinction) from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore. His principal mentors include Thomas Hecht, Nopanand Chanorathaikul, and Rolf-Dieter Arens.
